Optometrist
Dr. Carrie grew up in the country near Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. She attended University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and biology. She then completed her optometry degree in Chicago at Illinois College of Optometry. After graduation, she happily returned to Wisconsin where she worked and trained further in an ophthalmology practice outside of Milwaukee. She purchased Northwoods Family Eyecare with her husband Steven in 2019.
Dr. Carrie is passionate about helping patients understand the importance of eye health. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and manages many types of ocular diseases including dry eye, diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Dr. Carrie views all her patients as family, and hopes you feel at home with her.
Dr. Carrie is a member of the Indianhead Optometric Society, the Wisconsin Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. She lives in Chippewa Falls with her husband, her son, and her Brittany. In her free time, you can find Carrie chasing her toddler around or spending time with family.
Office Manager
Steven grew up in Saint Louis, MO. He attended University of Missouri at Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology) and received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He moved to North Chicago in 2011 for an internship and met Carrie just a few years later. He continued working for the same company for nine years in product design, specializing in power electronics. He continues doing contract work in his specialty while he manages the office.
Steven enjoys classic cars (currently restoring a ’72 Camaro), spending time with his son, tinkering on electronics, hockey (Let’s Go Blues!), warm weather, Japanese culture, and good food.
Optician
Michelle grew up in Chippewa Falls and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she received her bachelor’s degree in marketing management. She also holds an associate’s degree in marketing from CVTC. Michelle joined the optical field in 1996 and has since been a self-proclaimed eyeglass and vision geek! In the past 25 years, Michelle has achieved many goals including mission trips to Africa and Central America where she assisted doctors with eye examinations and finding glasses to fit their needs. Her hobbies include taking walks, listening to music, being in nature and enjoying the day. If you stop in to see her, make sure to ask about her dog!
Billing/Optician
Dana joined the Northwoods Family Eyecare team in 2015 as an optician. In 2019, Dana transitioned to a new role as optician and billing specialist. Dana is a great resource when patients need assistance with determining their insurance eligibility and benefits. In her spare time she enjoys camping, reading, crafting and traveling.
Patient Care Coordinator and Technician
Stacy grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2012 with a degree in Graphic Design. We were lucky to have her join our team in 2020 as she has a knack for making patients feel comfortable and she is the first smile to greet you as you walk in the door at Northwoods Family Eyecare. If you ask her, her former life as a graphic designer turned stay-at-home mom was wonderful, but working at Northwoods Family Eyecare is where she’s meant to be. When not working, Stacy enjoys spending time with her son, Owen and their dog, Ruby. She also loves attending concerts and sporting events – as Stacy would say, she “bleeds green and gold… Go Pack Go!”
Optician & Technician
Syndi has two associate degrees, one from CVTC in accounting, and another through MATC as an optometric technician. She is a familiar face at Northwoods Family Eyecare, as she worked at the previous Stanley location for many years. After a five-year hiatus, Syndi is back in Chippewa with us as a jack-of-all trades, helping patients check in and assisting with glasses selection and repairs. Syndi also works several days a week at her family’s business, Stanley Truck Sales. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, camping, and watching her husband, daughter, and extended family race cars every weekend.
